Spring 2016 Registration Instructions for - Continuing Undergraduate Students

EARLY COURSE REGISTRATION begins - via WEBREG on Sunday, November 1, 2015 (11:00pm-2:00am) through Friday, November 6, 2015 for continuing undergraduate students of Rutgers University - Newark (RU-N)

EARLY REGISTRATION PERIOD

Undergraduate students may begin to register for Spring 2016 courses according to the following dates and schedule.

  • For students with 105 or more degree credits - Sunday, Nov. 1 (11:00pm-2:00am)
  • For students with 105 or more degree credits - Monday, Nov. 2 (6:30am-2:00am)
  • For students with 90 or more degree credits - Monday, Nov. 2 (11:00pm-2:00am)
  • For students with 90 or more degree credits - Tuesday, Nov. 3 (6:30am-2:00am)
  • For students with 75 or more degree credits - Tuesday, Nov. 3 (11:00pm-2:00am)
  • For students with 75 or more degree credits - Wednesday, Nov. 4 (6:30am-2:00am)
  • For students with 60 or more degree credits - Wednesday, Nov. 4 (11:00pm-2:00am)
  • For students with 60 or more degree credits - Thursday, Nov. 5 (6:30am-2:00am)
  • For All eligible students ------------------- Thursday, Nov. 5 (11:00pm-2:00am)
  • For All eligible students ------------------- Friday, Nov. 6 (6:30am-2:00am)
  • For All eligible students ------------------- Friday, Nov. 6 (according to posted Hours of Operation on the WEBREG website)

NOTE: *Degree credits are credits already earned toward graduation; they do not include credits for courses currently in progress.

In-Person Registration conducted at the Office of the Registrar during the normal hours of operation on November 2 - November 6, 2015 will also follow the degree credits eligibility guidelines above.

NOTE: WEBREG will remain open for INITIAL REGISTRATION until Friday, January 15, 2016. Please note the Hours of Operation (availability) that is posted on the WEBREG system.

NJIT EXCHANGE REGISTRATION

Early Course Registration for NJIT courses begins November 1 - November 6, 2015

Students may register for NJIT courses in 28:120 (Biology) or 28:088 (Theater) via WEBREG starting November 1, 2015 in accordance with EARLY REGISTRATION PERIOD degree credit restrictions specified above.

Please refer to the Schedule of Classes for specific *Course Notes regarding registration for these Biology and Theater courses.

All other course registration, add/drop for NJIT courses, including those offered under course unit 28 (e.g. 28:198:280 Programming Language), must be done In-Person at the Registrar's Office.
Please see the Schedule of Classes for specific *Notes regarding registration for all NJIT courses.

In-Person course registration into NJIT courses will begin November 2, 2015

In-Person Hours of Operation during this EARLY CLASS REGISTRATION period:
Mon - Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm
In addition, the office is open on:
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 from 8:30am to 6:00pm for Spring 2016 registration.

Students registered for NJIT courses must adhere to the NJIT Add/Drop schedule.
January 25, 2016 is the LAST DAY TO ADD/DROP NJIT COURSES WITHOUT 'W' GRADE.

COURSE RESTRICTIONS

When reviewing courses on the Schedule of Classes students are encouraged to check the various "Notes" associated with the course to determine if restrictions exists, if they meet the prerequisites to register for the course, how to obtain permission for the course, and other informative notes.

  • To override "Maximum credits" restriction, students must see their Dean's Academic Advisor to request approval for the overload. Once approved the student must submit the Dean's authorized approval to the Registrar's Office to register the additional course and override the overload restriction.
  • To override "Prerequisites restrictions", students must see their Dean or Academic Advisor from the department offering the course to obtain authorized approval. Once approved the student must submit the authorized approval to the Registrar's Office to register the course and override the Prerequisite restriction.
  • To override courses that are restricted by Class Standing, or Major, students must see their Dean or Academic Advisor from the department offering the course to obtain authorized approval. Once approved the student must submit the authorized approval to the Registrar's Office to register the additional course and override the Class or Major restriction.

All other restrictions, e.g. Closed Courses or courses that are restricted "By Permission Only" may be overridden through the WEBREG system via Special Permission numbers (SP#). Students requiring SP#s must contact the Academic departments under which the course is being offered.

HOURS of OPERATION

Hours of Operation during this EARLY CLASS REGISTRATION period:
Mon - Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm
In addition, the office will be open on:
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 from 8:30am to 6:00pm for Spring 2016 registration.

Normal Hours of Operation: During the Fall/Spring semester when classes are in session.
Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. - 8:30am - 4:30pm
Wed. 10:00am - 6:00pm (only during regular academic year when classes are in session September - May)

The WEBREG system will continue to be available for Spring 2016 Registration from November 7, 2015 through January 15, 2016.

It is to your advantage to seek advisement and register early in order to avoid being closed out of classes.

 

 

NOTE: Students with outstanding debts equal to $200 or greater will be blocked from registration.
